Shell’s Meet the Toys

Oh the little boy would surely be delightful if the husband would be able to complete Toy Story 3 collectibles available in Shell. Only 80 bucks for a minimum purchase of 500 pesos worth of V-Power or 130 bucks for any Shell’s fuels.

Five toys to collect are Alien, Lot’s-o’-Huggin’ Bear, Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie and Bullseye.

Ooohh!! Wind up the aliens' spaceship and let it loose on a table-top; it never falls off the side.

 

Fill Lotso's truck with water and wheel it into position. Push the button and a powerful jet shoots out.

 

Pull Woody back on the train to wind the toy up. Then let go and set him clattering into the distance.

 

Pull back Buzz and see him whirl away at light speed as the spaceship wings pop up. To infinity and beyond!

 

Pull Jessie back on a flat surface, release, and watch as she takes off on a bucking Bullseye.

Joshua’s 4th birthday

We aren’t prepared for his birthday. Besides, the little boy doesn’t want to have a party. But I insisted to have a small party in school. Bought loot bags and its contents online. The dad cooked spaghetti and we repacked it and voila, a mini-party for the kids. Afterwards, we bought a cake for him to blow.

 

In less than 6 weeks

my first born is turning 4. He isn't the boy who clings to his mother all time now. He isn't the boy who would ask help for every little thing he does. He isn't the boy who would ask if he can go out of our room to play with his cousin in my mom's place. Where did all the years go?

As he requested, I'm cooking out a small party for him with his classmates in school. I haven't received the go sign yet from his teacher. I also need to finalize the list of things the husband and I need to buy before we troop to Divisoria for the lootbags.

And oh, he has been requesting to have one below for the longest time. I think it's high time we grant his wish.

Joshua is turning 4

Is this for real?

My little boy which I still calls my baby is turning four this March. Where did all the years go? He doesn’t need mommy now – most of the time. He does his own thing without my help. Even if I insist on helping him, he doesn’t allow me to do so. He’s practicing independence. He decides where to sleep. He decides what to eat. Although, we still can fool him to eat veggies.

Joshua’s night routine includes:

• Playing
• Eating dinner
• Brushing his teeth
• Taking a bath
• Drinking his milk
• Watching UP

It has been two weeks now that the little boy, err, kuya has been watching this movie. He loves it to bits. Often times when we are all sleepy, we let him watch it all by himself. He would wake his dad then (around 11pm or 12mn) to remove the laptop on the bed – no need to shut it down as he knows what to do. He knows the story very well and even lines from the movie itself.

Joshua’s Christmas Party

The little boy had his first taste of Christmas party in school. All three levels were merged into one and had it held at Jollibee Lianas Alabang. Joshua had all fun and even join the games. There were no exchange gifts but instead, the parents bought gifts for their own kid. He has giddy happy when he was called for his gift (a robot). After the party, off we went to Shopwise Santana Groove to have dinner at bought milk for him and diapers for Claire.

Goodbye nappies?

My mom started to potty train my son before he turns one. He didn’t even use his potty trainer as he prefers to poop in the toilet. Before he turns two, he doesn’t wear nappies during daytime. The hardest part of potty training him is whenever we go out of the house, i.e., going to the mall or groceries and during the night. We had several accidents inside the mall and groceries.

Before I got pregnant, we already told him to stop wearing nappies. We even told him that instead of buying nappies, we can buy toys for him. When I got pregnant, we openly discussed to him that he is already a kuya and he should do this and that - including not wearing diapers anymore. We have attempted it several times (including the time he has to go to school) but we failed. He had accidents in school and shows he was ashamed of what happen. He doesn’t want to sit down even on public vehicle if he is wet. I guessed he is still not prepared to say goodbye to his nappies.

Last Monday though, we run out of nappies. We don’t have time to go to the groceries so we thought of letting him sleep through the night without a nappy. Before that, we remind him that he isn’t wearing a nappy and that he should advise us if he wants to pee. The first two days, as I usually had the urge to pee at 12 midnight, I have to wake up the husband to take the little boy to the comfort room to pee. Lately though, the husband is too tamad to wake up at midnight so I let it pass. I can’t carry the little boy, you know. It has been 4 straight nights and he didn’t have any accidents at all.

Is it goodbye to nappies now? Or it’s still too early to tell?

Joshua updates

* He loves going to school now. Every single day  (even weekends) he would get up early and say he'll go to school. His teacher always asks the husband if the boy is really three years old only. He behaves well daw kasi. Only in school though.

* He is one of the few kids I knew who doesn't love hotdogs. He prefers chicken (loves to eat soft bones) and fish (eats even the eye part of it).

* He loves to talk to my tummy and his baby sister needs to talk back to him. He once said “gusto ko din dyan sa loob.”

* He has fascination with big things. He wanted a big house, big television, etc, etc. So when the husband and I needs to go to work, he’d ask us when we got home if we have money na to buy a big house, blah blah blah.

* He seemed to understood what death means. He doesn't want us to die as he would bluntly say "wala na siyang mommy or daddy."

* He still needs to be lulled to sleep, even for just a few minutes. This started when we introduced his little sister (inside my tummy).

* And lately, I guess with the near arrival of his baby sister, he would want me to cuddle him to sleep. He can't sleep on his own now.

In his PE uniform

Let me just share with you my son wearing his PE uniform. Pardon the picture, this is the only decent picture he has wearing it.

First star(s)

Joshua finally wore his school uniform last Monday and he went home giddy happy as his teacher gave him not just a 1 star but 3 stars.

He really enjoys school now. I just hope this will not end soon though.

 

Officially a preschooler

Monday was the start of class for Joshua in a Day Care center near the husband’s place. We opt to enroll him first in a Day Care as he might not enjoy school and decide not to go to school anymore after.

No pictures yet as he isn’t wearing uniform. The uniform was a bit big for him so we asked for a replacement to a smaller size. The schedule of class is 12nn to 2pm and we were already there by fifteen minutes before 12nn. Talk about the mommy being excited here.

When we were already there, he took a seat near Sergio (the husband’s cousin’s son). I bid him goodbye and he immediately said “Bye Mommy!”

Wow! He doesn’t seem to look like a first-timer there. Some of his classmates went crying went the teacher advised the parents to go out of the room already. My little boy, on the other hand, was so cool about being in school. The teacher even told me after school that she was quite amused seeing my little boy not crying at all.

The next day, the husband texted me around 12nn that Joshua had a boo-boo in school. He didn’t made the little boy wear diapers and so, he peed on his pants. LOL!

The husband was thinking of giving the little boy multiplayer games as a reward for being such a good boy in school. My little boy is indeed a preschooler now, officially.

Blame it all

to the husband.

Last Friday, the giddy husband advised me that he was able to get Joshua’s uniform. But lo and behold, the size of the uniform was way too big for the little boy.

The picture doesn’t show that much how big the uniform is. Today, the husband will go back to school and will ask the teacher if he can switch it to a smaller size. Hopefully, the teacher will agree or else we’ll need to scout for someone who can alter the uniform asap.

Joshua’s school things are almost complete. The only thing we lack are the books which will be given to us on the first day of school (15th of June), his sandos and briefs. His notebooks are color-coded. The bag and the hankies are all his choice.

   

Side note: Would you believe we were able to buy his school shoes from Chicco for only P200? Cheap isn’t it? The bag is worth P200 too. Thanks to the 3-weekend sale of Festival Mall last May!

Anyways, off now I go to seek for Real Property Management which reminds me today is the rally in Paseo de Roxas. Need to go off to work 4pm sharp. Ciao!

Shell Ferrari model car with real engine sound

Before sharing with you an anecdote from my son about this car, I’ll first share his shots from our ever reliable P&S cam.

          

The story behind the car (Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano):

Last Friday night, while I prepare Joshua for bed, I told him that we are going to Manaoag tomorrow morning with Papa Boy (husband’s father) so he needs to sleep early. I also told him that we’ll be buying the car he wants. Instantly, he blurted out:

“Hindi car bili Papa Boy, PSP. Daddy bili car kasi kaya nya bili yun. PSP kay Papa Boy.”

I lost words when I heard that, but I can’t help but laugh. The husband was on our bed and definitely heard that but I commented:

“Dy, narinig mo yun? Ang baba ng tingin ng anak mo sa’yo.”

We were laughing out hard after that. I wonder where did he get such idea. Hmm…

Tomorrow

Exactly three years tomorrow, I have witness a miracle in my life. It's my little boy's birthday!

Bike or PSP?

The little boy’s 3rd birthday is fast approaching. No, we won’t be throwing a party for him as hubby and I has long decided and agreed that we’ll be throwing a party for him (hopefully a grand one) on his 7th birthday. We’ve been asking the little boy what he wants for his birthday and he consistently asks for a bike and a PSP.

Seeing him enjoying playing PSP (as if he understands what he is playing), we were now thinking if it’s the right time to buy him one. Not that I don’t want him to have one, but sometimes, I think he is still too young to own one. Any suggestions?

Chubby Cheeks

I find chubby kids to be cute and adorable. And so, I’ve been wanting the little boy to be like them. We’ve tried to change vitamins, formula, and what nots to make him chubby to no avail. When I saw this pictures, I think I’m becoming successful. He has two chins already, LOL!
