Another lawyer is in the house

Yebah!!!

The whole family of hubby was in festive mood last weekend. The reason, another lawyer is in the house. My SIL has passed the 2009 Bar Exam.

I'd say I almost had a heart attack last Friday. I was still in the office (my schedule was midshift) when the husband asked me to check online if the result has already been released by Supreme Court since they announced the result will be released at 6pm. It was like past 7 or 8 in the evening if I remember it right that I was frantically refreshing the site every 5 minutes or so.

I was even online in FB checking for updates. By 10pm, finally the result has been released simultaneously. My heart beats faster and faster every single second that I really thought I'd have a heart attack - seriously. The loading of the page was so slow, I tell you. It took almost 12 minutes to show the names with MO as start of last name. I stopped when I saw her name and took a screenshot as proof.

attyI can’t explain how I felt when I saw her name. I felt for moment, my heart stopped. Gawd!, I texted her and the husband immediately. She, together with her niece and nephew, was already on their way home as they got bored waiting for the result. They were screaming and shouting inside the jeepney by then. (The next day, she told me I was the one who broke the good news to her.)

Whoah! Finally, her journey has ended and a new one has just begun. As the usual joke in the family, Joshua and Claire can now go bad as they have another lawyer who'll defend them in court.

Congrats ate!
Congrats Atty. Maria Cecilia Moldez!

Cleaning our dirty water

n-viro For the past months, several environmentalist groups has become more active in pursuing their agenda to convince people to go green and love our own planet. After the wrath of Ondoy in our country, we have become more aware of what we do and what have we done. Good thing there were companies who have been one with many groups to save Earth and clean our dirty water. One of those is N-Viro International Corporation. http://www.nviro.com They recycled and uses waste to energy products which are now available in real market. They have been existing since October of 1993. Ain’t it good to be one in their campaign to clean our dirty water?

What do you think of the new dNeero homepage?

Voice of Truth

by Casting Crowns. A very timely song for us who seeks God’s grace to heal our broken land.

worship-praise

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. 'Boy, you'll never win!'
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!
"You'll never win"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Thursday Thunks: It Happened

tt1

Welcome to the March 11th version of Thursday Thunks!

(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)

Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want. Write about it on your blog... simple as that. Maybe you can interpret it as a picture - we don't care!

Please only leave a link if you have written a Thursday Thunks post. Please mention us in your post, and link back to the blog here.

Don't forget to go visit the other participants' blogs. Read and comment about all their Thursday Thunks! Thats what all this is about afterall, isn't it? We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color of opals, and the number a thousand more than last week.

1. What is your favorite kind of cookie?

I’m torn between an oatmeal cookie and a chewy chocolate cookie.

2. If a birds wing falls asleep, does it hurt when it tries to flap it's wings or does that make it feel better?

No idea.

3. Water - tab, bottle, filtered or....???

Bottled.

4. Would you (or do you) have a stripper pole installed in your home?

Never. Even others would say it’s a good exercise, I’d still go for the good old forms of exercise.

5. Do you still have any Christmas decoration up?

All Christmas decorations are down although Christmas songs are still playing. My son loves it to bits, how odd it is.

6. What brand of camera do you have?

Sony. I want to dispose it and change it to the Panasonic DMC-LX3.

7. Why do paint colors have weird names?

That too, I have no idea. I guess because those who named the paint colors are also weird individuals.

8. Which toe is your favorite and which foot is it on?

I hate my feet.

9. What would you do if a celebrity sneezed in your face?

Get mad at them. Even though the are celebrities, they still don’t have the right to sneeze in my face.

10. If a stranger came to your door and asked for a glass of water, would you give it to them?

Yes. I won’t let him in though.

11. The government has asked that you pick the newest national holiday - what is it?

National Mother’s Day. Moms should not need to go to work during the day and just be pampered with love by their family.

12. How many toothpicks could you fit into a beer can?

Uhm. No idea. Haven’t tried it yet. Better google for this, LOL!

13. Whats the weirdest excuse you ever gave for missing school or work...or heck, even a social function, date, whatever?

Hahaha! I can’t remember it anymore. I made a lot of excuses.

14. Can we stop now?

Definetely yes!

How I wish

  • we can survive in a one-income household. With this, I can be a SAHM and be with my kids. I knew they'll be kids  only for few years and I want to be with them during those years. In a few years, they won't be needing me as much as they needed me now.
  • my boss wouldn't hire the female applicant. I know I'd be selfish to wish for that. Having another female in the team would mean I have to follow the 24/7 shifting schedule. No special treatment for me then.
  • the husband agrees to have Joshua enrolled in Ann Arbor Montessori for the next school year. I know, the tuition fee will get a big chunk on our budget. It means a big sacrifice for us, no more "wants" for us, only "needs".  Being the mother and being hard headed, I still insist to send him in a Montessori school rather than the traditional one.
  • my wishes came true. Bro, please hear me and grant my prayer.

International Women’s Day

logoWhatever you give a woman, she will make it greater. Give her sperm, she will give you a baby. Give her a house, she will give you a home. Give her groceries, she will give you a meal. Give her a smile and she will give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what she is given. So if you give her crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit.

REJOICE AND BE PROUD! I AM A WOMAN!

Joshua’s 4th birthday

We aren’t prepared for his birthday. Besides, the little boy doesn’t want to have a party. But I insisted to have a small party in school. Bought loot bags and its contents online. The dad cooked spaghetti and we repacked it and voila, a mini-party for the kids. Afterwards, we bought a cake for him to blow.

1. Why are you making small things a big deal?
2. I want you to take me to a place where I can breathe fresh air.
3. Leave it to me, then it will be on my terms.
4. Watch and see what happens.
5. I could use a a dipper when using the loo, no need for a bidet.
6. Stop and then relax.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hugs and kisses from my two kids, tomorrow my plans include doing the laundry and watching “Crazy For You” and Sunday, I want to have a back-massage!
