The meme about Me, Myself and I

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing. Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go

1 Today we ripped this meme off a blogger named Lucy at the blog The Smallest Smallholding. She states that she was tagged by her friend Amy at the blog Turn to the Music. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Hootin’Anni Style

Welcome to the October 21st edition of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want.
Write about it on your blog... simple as that.
Maybe you can interpret it as a picture - we don't care!
Please only leave a link if you have written a Thursday Thunks post.
Don't forget to go visit the other participants' blogs.
Read and comment about all their Thursday Thunks responses!
That's what all this is about after all, isn't it?
We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....

Today's questions are brought to you by the color purple, witches' brooms, the number 800-555-1000, and hootin' anni.

1] We all love snuggly things, right? In your own words, explain how the "X" and "O" became symbols for kisses and hugs!

X symbolizes the way your arms are crossed at the back of the person you hug. O symbolizes the pout of your lips when you try to kiss a person. Does that make sense?

2] Besides eliminating sticks, what would you put in a non-stick pan?

I’d try grilled cheese.

3] x=y over pi squared. What are your thoughts on crematoriums having discounts on those that die in fires?

Thanks but no thanks.

4] Tongue twisters are fun...but, it's torture to try to say lisp with that "s" in the word. What is your favorite tongue twister? Risque answers get extra credit!

I grew up with the Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers..

5] Cold weather is coming up. If it's zero degrees Fahrenheit, and tomorrow night it's predicted to be twice as cold, what temperature will it be?

A negative two degress Fahrenheit, if my math is correct, LOL!

6] Your significant other is upset with you, would you rather be skating on thin ice or be in hot water? Why?

Skating in thin ice because feeling cold makes me feel less stress than having something hot near me.

7] What's worse, expecting the unexpected or being a wise guy?

Being a wise guy because all eyes are up you and people won’t forget even the single, most simple mistake you’ll do.

8] What brand of vacuum cleaner sucks the best? Mine really sucks!!!

No idea.

9] How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire? Do you like playing with fire?

Hmmm… I don’t play with fire.

10] Toys R us...what was your favorite toy?

During my younger years, I’d die for a Barbie.

11] Halloween is near...let's go grave robbing....what would you like to find?

Gold or diamond that can suffice to pay all my debts, LOL!

12] Do you wake up or open your eyes first?

I am not actually aware if I wake up first or open my eyes first. I’ll try it later and be conscious about it.

13] What mask would you wear to a Halloween Party?

Nothing. I don’t attend Halloween party or should I say nobody invites me.

Have a great day. See you next Thursday.

Barangay and SK Elections

Today, I mean yesterday was the country’s Barangay and SK elections. We went back to the same old banana of voting manually. The husband accompanied his sister who was a lawyer in supervising one precinct in another barangay. I just learned that up until now, they are still there waiting for the result of the election.

No sleep for 48 hours

I did it. I had been awake for straight 48 hours even if I force myself to sleep. Here’s what happened. Last Friday night, my boss advised me that I can go work at home on Saturday night as our company hired Houston pest control to do our twice a month pest control. Saturday morning, I went to Greenhills together with the husband and his cousin. Never did I thought that we would end up until evening there. We arrived at home around 7pm. Should I need to report to the office, I would have end up sleeping in my area. I was seriously dead tired, I tried to sleep for an hour.

I’m so proud

1 Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: I'm So Proud

1. What are you proud of?

Proud to be who I am – what I was and what I have become.

2. What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize? How did you win it?

In my entire existence, I have never won a contest excluding small raffle during parties.

3. Tell us about something you've done that in retrospect was a waste of time.

I’d say it’ll be investing so much of my emotions to my past relationships that when it ended, I don’t have anything left for me.

4. How old were you when life changed the most for you? How did it change?

I was 23 then, I got pregnant out of wedlock. Until now, we still aren’t married but I’m happy to say that I made the right decision not to abort the baby then.

5. Tell us about a place you that you've been that you considered to be very tranquil.

I felt unattached to the world when I visit my mom’s hometown, most especially when I am alone in the rice fields enjoying the view of the mountains.

6. Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter? Why?

I don’t have any.

7. If you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it? Why?

My own name! At least, when I am already dead, they’d still remember me because of it.

8. What is something about which you've always wondered but have not yet found a good answer?

Why do life is unfair? None can answer that, I suppose.

9. When you can't go to sleep, what is your personal remedy to help yourself drift into Lullabyland?

When I was still young, I have this habit of playing with my belly button to make me sleepy. Thankfully, I didn’t do it now.

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

What color cell phone are you?

You Are a Black Cell Phone
You are powerful, assertive, and a real go getter. You never have any problem getting what you want.
You value success, and part of that success means having the latest and greatest things.

You tend to be the first in line for the newest cell phone. You like to have as many features as possible.
You know that things don't make people happy... but they sure make life more fun!

Santa’s gift

My parents didn’t believe in Santa Claus, so I grew up not knowing him. Still, if he was real, what would your wish be? What do you want to receive from him? Investment wise, a gold coin or gold bullion would be ideal to ask for him. For sure, he doesn’t need to visit the Unites States Gold Bureau to have one. My dream cam and my dream bag would be a nice gift too, if it isn’t too much to ask. As a mother, I’d love to have small gifts for the kids as they would surely love to get more than one gift on Christmas day. Sadly though, he isn’t for real so all our wishes would remain wishes if we don’t do actions.

Just the way you are

Just the way you are
Bruno Mars

Oh her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying

She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Yeah I know, I know
When I compliment her
She wont believe me
And its so, its so
Sad to think she don't see what I see

But every time she asks me do I look okay
I say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

Her nails, her nails
I could kiss them all day if she'd let me
Her laugh, her laugh
She hates but I think its so sexy

She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Oh you know, you know, you know
Id never ask you to change
If perfect is what you're searching for
Then just stay the same

So don't even bother asking
If you look okay
You know I say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

The way you are
The way you are
Girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

What else is new?

It’s Friday night!

And when everyone else in this side of the world is either partying or in deep slumber, here I am at work starting my eight hour shift. I know I shouldn’t rant as only few are lucky enough to find a decent job I have but I can’t help it. I am not a night person. There is one good side though of being a night shift, and that is I can simply do my tasks without thinking if someone else is peeking my monitor. And I can take a break and research about gold coins every now and then.

So, what else is new?

Friday Fill-in #196

So...here we go!

1. One of my strongest beliefs is God exists.

2. Many mistakenly think I am pregnant as my belly is huge!

3. The sky is cloudy with a threat of rain and wind and cold, so it would be nice to just chill inside the bedroom and play with the kids.

4. Knowing someone still believes in me is comforting to me.

5. I always thought I'd be a sore loser.

6. When I daydream, I always stare at the stars and then I went outside to look at the full moon.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to what else but going back to work, tomorrow my plans include visiting my son’s pedia dentist and Sunday, I want to seriously review for my certification exam!

Goodbye to The Correspondents

The Correspondents ends its 12-year run on ABS-CBN tonight

1 In its 12 years on air, ABS-CBN's premier news documentary program The Correspondents has featured significant events in the country's history as well as life-changing human interest stories on the plight of ordinary Filipinos.

This Tuesday (October 19), viewers will get to revisit the stories of 12 individuals who have become part of the 12 colorful and brilliant years of The Correspondents.

The story of Nicolai Magtibay, the young child stricken with Bilary Atresia in the episode "Yellow Babies," won at the 2004 New York TV and Film Festival. Relive the story of Lola Susana, who was a senior citizen in jail who finally got freedom with the help of the program.

The Correspondents will also look back at the story of several out-of-school youth working as miners, and who are now finally back to school. Take a trip again to Barangay San Ysiro, where residents are still waiting for progress to arrive to their community.

These are the people who have given a face to the issues in our society. They are the people whose lives had changed in the 12 years of this news documentary program.

Known for its reports on the biting realities and analyses on the biggest news in the nation, it is also home to the country's known journalists such as Karen Davila, Abner Mercado, Bernadette Sembrano, and Ces Oreña-Drilon. The program has also received honors here and abroad from award-giving bodies like the UNICEF Child Rights Awards, Catholic Mass Media Awards, Kapisanan ng Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, USTv Awards, and the  Lasallian Scholarum Awards.

This ABS-CBN show also brought its documentaries and anchors to different colleges and universities through The Correspondents' Docuniversity Tour. This allowed the anchors to personally share their documentaries, and their experiences and tips as broadcast journalists to thousands of mass communication students.

The Best of the Correspondents airs tonight (October 19) after Bandila on ABS-CBN.

From PEP

My first experience

1 I never tried to use my company provided health card even just for a simple check-up. Besides, our doctors (pedia and OB) are family friends. I got pregnant but didn’t use it either. I knew that the doctor won’t treat us well if we use the card.

Last Saturday we were out for lunch when the husband felt severe pain on his third molar. He said it was too painful and wanted to have it extracted immediately. And so, we scouted for a dental clinic near the area. After the agony of having the tooth extracted, which didn’t happen on the spot, we went home. I took a mental note, upon seeing the healthcard’s logo on the door, to inquire about their services for us. The next day, I called them up to inquire and we ended up having a schedule Monday afternoon for a prophylaxis for both my son and I.

On the day itself, the just cleaned my son’s teeth manually claiming that he still can’t bear the machine-type of cleaning as he was still young. They even claim that there is no need to have his cavity filled which was opposed to the pedia-dentist we first see at the early part of this year. When it was my turn, the dentist cleaned my teeth well but was shocked when she was announced it was done. She only cleaned my front teeth leaving my molars uncleaned.

Is that the way they handle health card holders? I will ask our coordinators in our office if that’s really the way they handle us.

Christmas is around the corner

Christmas is around the corner and I can see my wish list is starting to get long. However, this season won’t be merry for us as we are cost cutting, we still have tons of bills to pay and I am targeting to be debt free by next year. And so, no more gold coins for me. I’d have to keep myself contented reading about United States Gold Bureau online and wish that by next year, we’d be able to be financially free to buy what we want and not just those we dire need. I am not bitter. I just learned to accept the fact of life.

Answer to my facial skin problem

aveeno I have a very problematic facial skin. And I have been trying almost all skin care products in the market – from Ponds to Olay to Eskinol to Belo but still nothing works for me. I stumbled from a forum and read something about this beauty bar soap (Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleansing Bar) who many raves about. Although this product is imported, I am lucky enough to see it at Shopwise when my son and I went there to buy milk for my daughter. For almost $4, I think it was a steal. I am now trying it and so far my skin reacts to it well.

Oh no!

The dear husband has been complaining that his tooth aches. And so, we took time to visit a dentist. The dentist confirmed that there was something wrong with his third molar (wisdom tooth). They performed prophylaxis first then had his tooth x-rayed to check the alignment of the tooth. He was given medicines to take for a week. After which, if the pain still occurs, they have no choice but to extract it. He asked how much would that cost. I can’t believe it when they told us that the cost could get as high as $200 depending on how easy or hard the tooth gets extracted. More than buying single bullion, right?

SM Scholars Grand Alumni Homecoming

SMHome Our future depends on what we know and learn today.

SM Foundation Inc. has been a part of my college life, and I owe them big time. If not for them, I wouldn’t have a degree in Computer Engineering now. It’s a prestige to be part of the SM Scholars Alumni.

Tomorrow, the 17th of October, the 2nd Grand Alumni Homecoming will be held. I was unable to attend the first one, so I make sure I can make it here. It’ll be fun seeing my co-scholars who were my professors too in college and also my college friends who I haven’t seen for the longest time now. See you!

No to techie stuff

Okay, I am still ecstatic to own a brand new cellular phone courtesy of the husband. Over and over, I was thinking the reason why he bought one. If you knew my husband, he isn’t the type of person who gives gifts even if there’s a reason, such as birthdays, anniversaries or even Christmas. He would rather buy bullion as he thinks it’s a good investment (which I agree) rather than those techie stuffs in the market (which I don’t agree). Well, I guess I don’t need any acting workshops anymore as he bought the idea of giving me one, LOL!

Woot! Woot!

Indeed, the MAN above answers prayers in many ways – mysterious ways that no one can ever predict. Just yesterday, I receive my daily God Whispers Today message which I posted here. It says HE wants me to have money.

I know, I’m getting materialistic these days. Who wouldn’t? Bills are piling up, memo from school arriving almost everyday reminding you to pay this and that. I am literally drowned with payables in my hand.

2I opened my mail today and receive a wonderful greeting.

Take a peek! Aside from that, my boss just gave us a good news. The increase that we (my colleague and I) have been waiting for since the first quarter of this year has finally been approved. Although the company wouldn’t give us the retro pay, they have increased us more than we asked.

Isn’t that a great news?

Thank you Ama! Thank you! Thank you!

I haven’t had the chance to go to Forever21 at Mega – loser me. Hopefully, I could squeeze a little time for this on weekends.
