HammeRuler ... Redesign almost ready!

The previous conversation asked for your help with the HammeRuler commercial ... well, there's a tie, so we need you to break it.

The HammeRuler is convenient. Our research shows that when you're hammering you are more likely to next use a ruler than any other tool. But so what? Well, that's the metric we've found ... it's called Short Measure Acceleration or SMA for short ... SMA says that you can complete your job faster, and get back to the music, the sports, the cooking you enjoy!

It's about you

The following questions from dNeero-ites that have joined the the "Get it going with dNeero" conversation. When asking your User Question please make it relevant to the questions below ... e.g., "What's your morning routine?", "Do you cook for pleasure or necessity?", "When do you like to listen to your favorite music?", "Does your Zodiac sign affect your life?"

Sick Joshua

The little boy is sick now. He's been coughing so hard the past few days - the one that has pleghm. We already took the little boy to his uncle pedia. Right now, he's taking medicines. I'm so proud of him as he cooperates when he needs to drink one. No need to force him. Because of this, he isn't in his usual likot mode so he opt to color and read.

Remembering the sleepless nights

All of us, I certainly believe went through the sleepless nights during college years making our own thesis. Good thing there was Internet that could help us do our research for this and that topics. During my time then, we almost spend a lot of our time doing our dissertation. I believe everybody would do the same as all of us would have wanted to graduate, right? One more thing that is most tricky during this crucial days is that some of us, most often than not, plagiarize the other’s works. Others went to our local Quiapo to buy other’s works. Not anymore. I actually found a site where one can buy essay, term papers, research papers, etc. They also offer editing services to students who had hard time doing his or her own thesis. They also offer services of writing your own resume that can easily attract employers in the future. No need to worry as what they offer is unique is 100% plagiarism free. Ain’t that cool? Hahaha! Would I found out that earlier, I would have bought one instead of gruelling sleepless nights thinking of what to scribble, arranging my thoughts and making sure that my thought is not like what I’ve downloaded on the net. Lucky are the college students nowadays, don’t you think?

I was bitten

by a PUPPY. It all happened yesterday morning. Our puppy was playing inside our house when all of a sudden he pass through my feet. Of course, my instant reaction is to pull my feet away from him. There goes a scratch on my feet which I can't figure if done by his teeth or nails.

Instead of risking for my safety, we went straight to RITM (Research Institute for Tropical Medicine) to get my dose of anti-rabies and anti-tetanus. I've got 4 shots aside from the 2 uber painful skin test. My arm is still aching because of the anti-tetanus shot that was given to me. I'll be going back there for 3 more shots - I just hope no more skin test as hubby's arm is full of nail scratches from me already, LOL!

Citizenship Marketplace

This is a follow up to the "Citizenship For Sale?" conversation. In the first conversation, many folks were concerned about the morality of selling their own citizenship ... that concern is right on target and it was pleasant to see our dNeeroites question that possibility. However, Nobel Laureate Gary Becker's proposal has to do with the U.S. government selling the right to legal immigration. Can such a proposal work in the U.S. ... could it work for other countries? Can the law of supply and demand work to solve immigration problems?

My future carpenter

OK. We grew up having a carpenter at home. My dad is one. He has feed our growling tummy by being one. When I was still younger, I despise having a dad who is merely a carpenter. I am often embarrassed at such fact. Later on, I realize that this so-called “job” is the one who makes us live daily. And so, I am so proud of my dad. He has been a carpenter and become a contractor at present. He has been kind and there were times that most of his clients fool him, talk about breach of contract here. Since he was kind enough, he let them be as long as we still have food for everyday.

Lookie! My little boy is growing to be like my dad.

CCNA in the future

Being a graduate of IT, you don’t need to pass any licensure exam to be big time in this kind of industry. You think it was just that simple? Nope! You may not need to pass any licensure exam but you need to take certifications (a lot) to be called successful in this industry. I myself am an example. I haven’t taken Cisco certification yet. But, if there is one thing I badly want to accomplish this year is to take such certification. It’s necessary in my field, network to be exact. My supervisor, who is a Cisco certified (CCNA), advised us to take it now before any other certification as this can help us shape our career in the future. It is so easy to take one. All you need to do is to enroll in the course, which are either the usual four or five courses or the boot camp which is only five days. After which, you can review on your own and take the test. Simple!
Once you have been a Cisco certified, you can actually “sell yourself” into a higher compensation. You can get another certification as to be something big in this field. Cool! After being certified, everything will fall into its proper places. Besides, being Cisco certified is not just a mere certification. Once you get such, you’ll be called “big time” in this industry. I bet this is really, really cool. So to all IT people out there, go and be certified.

Last night

Hubby and I arrived home and I immediately notice three travel bags packed full of Joshua’s clothes. I asked my mom what’s that for and she narrated that there was a fire in our village early morning, 10 houses away from us to be exact. My mom was in panic that all she was able to pack were clothes of the little boy. On the other hand, my youngest brother took care of removing our gas tank, TV, component, etc. After two hours, the fire was out. There were two water delivery trucks who whole heartedly offered their water while waiting for the fire trucks. Thanks to the very quick response of the Parañaque and Muntinlupa fire station. By the way, since my mom was in panic during the whole time, she even forgot to text or to call me. I should have sent hubby home to help them. I couldn’t be happier than now. Thank God!

Is it goodbye now?

I’ll be in hiatus again in blogging. Why? My boss killed the unofficial proxy temporarily as he suspects that there was a leakage and some other team knew about it. I will try to squeeze time if I can, hopefully.

I Signed up for SocialSpark

Finally. After a long, long wait. I was able to understand SocialSpark. Cheers to Vannie for a hand. We were exchanging messages last Tuesday about our extra job when she informed me to try this out. I’ve already signed up for this but the lazy me didn’t actually find time understanding it. So would you believe I was so relieved talking to her while she explains me what to do, step by step. If you are a blogger looking for way to earn some money from your blog like me, why not try to sign up at SocialSpark. They can help you monetize your blog, build community and drive traffic. Isn’t that great? Plus, they have one of a kind code of ethics. They have one hundred percent audit-able in-post disclosure, one hundred percent transparency, one hundred percent real opinions, and one hundred percent search engine friendly. One more thing that makes this stand out among the rest is that you can actually reserve a slot for an opportunity. Isn’t that cool? Like me, having a blog is not just for the purpose of earning money. Monetizing it is just a plus. In here, you can actually meet a lot of bloggers. This could add traffic to your site which would make you feel good later. You know what I’m talking about.

So what are you waiting for? Like what I did, sign up for free, monetize your blog and earn friends. And if you need assistance with this, you pop me a message. I am more than happy to help.

Movie date

Joshua is in the province as what I have posted here with my mom. So, hubby and I opt to spend the night with a movie date. He fetch me here in my office and we head straight to Glorietta. We ate dinner first then watched Hancock. I know, many of my officemates didn't like the movie. On the other hand, I liked the movie. Or should I say I'm just like a kid whenever I watch a movie. Everything is splendid for me, LOL!

The best part of the movie for me is when Hancock (with several gunshots, he's getting mortal by then) tried his very best to move out of the hospital just to save his "technically speaking" wife. Here's the synopsis from their official website:

There are heroes... there are superheroes... and then there's Hancock (Will Smith). With great power comes great responsibility - everyone knows that - everyone, that is, but Hancock. Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave a jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough - as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think - until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet - and a task that may prove impossible as Ray's wife, Mary (Charlize Theron), insists that he's a lost cause.

My little boy is kidnapped

By my mom, that is. My mom is going to Pangasinan yesterday. We were exchanging messages whether the little boy can come with her. At first I agreed, but later on become hesitant as there is a storm here in the country. When I told her to leave the little boy at home, she replied that they are already on their way to the bus station. What?! I wasn’t prepared. I bombarded her with questions like did they bring enough milk, feeding bottles, clothes (pajamas in particular), extra food and juice, toiletries, vitamins and all. I was in a panic. I almost cried when my mom informed me that they’ll be going home on Saturday. What again?! This is the first time I won’t be seeing the little boy this long. I am planning to take a leave tomorrow until Friday so that hubby and I can fetch the little boy at province. Hopefully, my boss would approve it.

Proxy and DMZ issues

Pardon my being absent from the blogging world for a few days. Tasks in the office are over flowing while my boss is on leave. The proxy server is acting up weird almost every single day. We have reinstalled the ISA server several times already. I guess it's high time to replace the hardware, don't you think. Servers connected in the DMZ can't be access. I've tried reseating the data cables, power off the switch and all very I resort the last option which is to ask our regional network administrator (the one in China) to check our firewall. Good thing as he was able to fix it or else “Gollum” will bombard our team with shit. Hahaha! Hopefully, things will be smoother this day. Good day to all!

Whenever money is introduced into a process there is the risk of creating bias. dNeero works hard to reduce and remove that bias. We want you to score us and share your thoughts on how money and blogging interact. As always, be honest!

Is it time?

With the BPA issue in most feeding bottles, I was thinking of getting the little boy a new set of feeding bottles. He has been using Avent since he was weaned from me. I've been searching the net for BPA-free feeding bottles and I noticed almost all the bottles are made of glass. Yikes! Those bottles do not fit the little boy. Not unless I need to buy another one every single day. For a little info, my little boy loves to throw his bottle once he consumed the milk. Now, should I get another set of feeding bottles or wean him from the bottle. Oh well...

Last Song Syndrome

I often hear myself singing this.

I found a very special love in you

I never believed in love

I was deceived by love
I never had much luck with lovers before...

And I couldn't compete
I seemed just part of the street
To be walked on by everyone but then

Then, I found a very special love in you
It's a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over, it's burning inside
And I found a very special love in you
And it almost breaks me in two
Squeezing me tighter
But I'm never gonna let go...

You're not like the rest
I know you're one of the best
You give more than you should and take nothing in return

Stay always with me
And I always will be
The one person that you can count on always to love you

And I found a very special love in you
It's a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over, it's burning inside
And I found a very special love in you
And it almost breaks me in two
Squeezing me tighter
But I'm never gonna let go

And I Found a very special love in you
It's a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over, it's burning inside
I found a very special love in you
And it almost breaks me in two
Squeezing me tighter
But I'm never gonna let go...

Oh my Pag-ibig!

This whole Pag-ibig contribution is giving me a headache, a major one. Argh! I was just trying to merge my whole contribution to Makati but que horror, I never thought my contribution is scattered everywhere. I was with my former company in Pasay from January 2005 to April 2007 but it reflects that I don't have contribution from March 2005 to July 2006. Susme! Asan na siya napunta? I called the Pasay branch to clarify the matter and would you believe where my contributions are, in Cubao! Susko! Nahilo ako bigla. Pano naman napunta sa Cubao yun? I even requested a friend working in Pag-ibig Makati to merge my contributions in Pasay before. How does that happen?

Pag-ibig, please do something with your system. You've have enough funds (I think) to centralize your databases. Gawd!

My laziness and taxi rate

With my uber early schedule of 7 am to 4 pm, more often than not, I hail a cab in Ayala going to Vallero. Why? Simply because all my genes, hormones, cells and everything is still asleep. My 50-peso bill is more than enough to pay a cab. However, I got a shock of my life today when the driver told me that they'll be having a 10-peso increase in their flag down rate tomorrow. Gawd! Everything is increasing, aside from my salary. LOL! I'm now thinking of a work around about this. Think. Think. Think.

The best birthday gift

So how was I my birthday? Perfectly imperfect! We were supposed to go to Rockwell as I'm dying to have a taste of Pepper Lunch but didn't push through with our plans. Instead, we went to Uratex showroom to buy some mattresses. Oh well!

We just had spaghetti and ice cream as I was waiting for my dad to come home from Qatif to treat my family out for dinner, para tipid, lol! After that, had a movie marathon. The day was spent so simple and yet it was bliss for me. I was with my loved ones the whole time. Did I say I received a gift from the little boy? Here watch it.

My very first LO

I've been long wanting to try digiscrapping but backed out whenever I got the urge to do so. Why? Because I ain't a creative person. Luckily I had the chance to lurke around Aggie's site and found a template. I didn't even ask permission. Hahaha! Thank you so much Aggie! Tried to use it and voila, I finished my very first LO in an hour (halatado bang walang ginagawa sa work?) I might stick to cookies to continue my new found passion, naks! One more thing that gives me second thought in digiscrapping is I can't publish my works without putting credits - I don't know if there is a proper way to do so.
Anyhoo, this are what I used: (1) Aggie's template, (2) Shabby Princess Express yourself, (3) Shabby Princess Moody Blues and (4) Shabby Princess Urban Kiwi.

Btw, all are freebies as I am still starting. Will buy kits soon, if the bug stays with me for a long time.

With the technology that we have today, I am shocked to know that he has been researching for online college courses for a couple of months now. He even mentioned to me that he has read about Capella University makes comprehensive online academic writing center available to the public. It features multi-media modules aimed at graduate level students studying in a variety of disciplines. Some of that unique information includes a writing handbook organized around the writing process and embedded with multi-media modules, animated handouts, and easily downloadable documents on topics such as the philosophy behind APA writing guidelines, writing a literature review, and pre-writing techniques that can be used to help facilitate the writing process.

My ZARA

My college friends (together with their partners) met at Mall of Asia for my advanced birthday treat. Since they were so clueless as to what gift I want, they actually asked me straight to the point. Seeing ZARA on sale, I texted Jhong a simple “a top from Zara” with matching laugh. Never did I expect that they would actually buy me one. Oopps! Two pala. I haven’t took a picture of them so the tag would suffice for the mean time. To my beloved friends, thank you so much! Ang galing nyo ha, both the S and M size fits me well, LOL!

BFF nite out

Last Saturday, after my OT, hubby picked me up in Ayala and we troop to Mall of Asia to spend the night with my college friends. I treated them dinner, my advanced treat for them. We wanted to try Kalye Juan but we were 6th in the waiting list. Gawd! Since we were hungry then, we tried our look in Gerry’s Grill. After our sumptuous meal, we went near the bay and though it was drizzling, we still had a fun time taking pictures. Did I say all our camera and phone batteries went low bat? Sumuko na sa amin, LOL!

Here are the few pictures that we had. The rest of the picture can be found here.
