Father and Son

Mommies, were you able to experience being jealous with the daddy as your kid favors him over you. I don’t know if it’s normal, but I’m feeling it right now. Let me explain my reasons:

1. Whenever I arrive home without the daddy, the little boy ignores me and stands in front of our main door and say “Daddy.”

2. Whenever asked who he loves most, is it me or his daddy – the answer is “Daddy.”

3. Whenever asked if he would come with me or his daddy – it’s still the “Daddy.”

4. Whenever his daddy is asleep, the little boy behaves so well. But whenever I am asleep, he steps on me – on my legs, on my head, on my chest, and on my tummy. (Note: I delivered him via C-section so would you imagine how painful it was for me whenever he does it)

5. Whenever his daddy embraces me – he removes his daddy’s arm on me and instead stay in-between us.

6. He kisses his daddy all time without any reasons, without telling him to do so. Me? Nevermind.

However, all strenuous activities – giving him a bath, feeding him, brushing his teeth, putting on his clothes, preparing his milk, playing and singing – the little boy would say “Meme.” I don’t actually complain about this as I love spending time with him. I just can’t accept the fact that after all the time I have spent with him; after doing all the things he wanted me to do though I sometimes make myself look stupid (I’m a spoiler, daddy’s the strict one) - he’s showing me that he likes his daddy than me. Help mommies!

Precious sleep

When do you usual hit the sack? Oh well, while others are in deep slumber in the comfort of their home, here I am at office working my ass hard. This is my last week of night shift but I say I still wasn't able to adjust to the supposedly night time for me.

I often arrive at home around 8 am. Since I am still full by that time (I eat my breakfast in the office) I usually play with the little boy until 9 am or watch Barney with him. By then, I gave him a bath and it's nap time for him. That's the only time I can sleep. However, by 12 nn, the little boy wakes up and so do I. I'll then eat lunch. Then what's next for me? Nothing... Lucky for me if I can go back to sleep and grab 3 more hours of sleep.

So bad... Now, I only had 2 hours of sleep... Oh my, wish me luck as I might fall asleep here.

Thank you for your interest, and it had better be genuine and non-sexual. Please allow four to six years for processing.

You will be contacted in writing if you are approved. Please do not try to call or write (since you probably can't, and it would cause you injury). If your application is rejected, you will be notified by two gentlemen wearing white ties carrying violin cases (you might want to watch your back).

To prepare yourself, start studying Daddy's Rules for Dating.

Daddy's Rules for Dating
Your dad's rules for your boyfriend (or for you if you're a guy):

Rule One:
If you pull into my driveway and honk you'd better be delivering a package, because you're surely not picking anything up.

Rule Two:
You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her, so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off of my daughter's body, I will remove them.

Rule Three:
I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys of your age to wear their trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off their hips. Please don't take this as an insult, but you and all of your friends are complete idiots. Still, I want to be fair and open minded about this issue, so I propose this compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear showing and your pants ten sizes too big, and I will not object. However, in order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten your trousers securely in place to your waist.

Rule Four:
I'm sure you've been told that in today's world, sex without utilizing a 'Barrier method' of some kind can kill you. Let me elaborate, when it comes to sex, I am the barrier, and I will kill you.

Rule Five:
It is usually understood that in order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back at my house, and the only word I need from you on this subject is: 'early.'

Rule Six:
I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is okay with my daughter. Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you will continue to date no one but her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry, I will make you cry.

Rule Seven:
As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process than can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead of just standing there, why don't you do something useful, like changing the oil in my car?

Rule Eight:
The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter: Places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool. Places where there is darkness. Places where there is dancing or holding hands. Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka - zipped up to her throat. Movies with a strong romantic or sexual themes are to be avoided; movies that feature chain saws are okay. Hockey games are okay. Old folks homes are better.

Rule Nine:
Do not lie to me. I may appear to be a potbellied, balding, middle-aged, dimwitted has-been. But on issues relating to my daughter, I am the all-knowing, merciless god of your universe. If I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I have a shotgun, a shovel, and five acres behind the house. Do not trifle with me.

Rule Ten:
Be afraid. Be very afraid. It takes very little for me to mistake the sound of your car in the driveway for a chopper coming in over a rice paddy near Hanoi. When my Agent Orange starts acting up, the voices in my head frequently tell me to clean the guns as I wait for you to bring my daughter home. As soon as you pull into the driveway you should exit the car with both hands in plain sight. Speak the perimeter password, announce in a clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then return to your car - there is no need for you to come inside. The camouflaged face at the window is mine.

To all mommy bloggers who have a daughter, feel free to snag this. So hilarious!

Shopping cart anyone?

Days ago, I had a little chit chat with my college friend who's currently working in the US and our conversation ended up with ecommerce software. I signed up with Smorty

Months ago, I stumbled on few mommy blogs and was amazed on how they were able to earn while blogging. Some of them were able to buy signature bags with their earnings while others used it for a family travel here in the country. And how was that possible? Simple, they are being paid in what they call blog advertising. Wow! It's like hitting a bird with one stone; you can still continue to have you personal online diary and you're able to blog for money. Advertisers can pay bloggers to write opinions posts with links back to the advertiser’s site like Smorty. With the eagerness to earn a little more from what I am earning from work, I joined the bandwagon and signed up with Smorty. Fortunately, I was approved by them. It is, like other paid blogging sites, a service connecting advertisers with bloggers. It wouldn’t hurt if I spend 1-2 hours a day to blog, right? Now, wouldn't you love to blog and earn a decent money on it. Join now and like me, sign up at Smorty.

Joshua's diet

My little boy is G6PD positive in his newborn screening. I still don't understand the whole meaning of those but I make it a point to know by heart the foods and medicines that are a no-no for him. No soya or any products with soya, no menthol (even mouthwash), no beans, no red wine (poor boy, he would be missing this when he grows up), no tonic water. Since studies have shown that there is no direct effect if he is exposed to this except for fava beans (which I believe is not available here), I sometimes let him taste some foods (like adobo which has soy sauce on it) that are a no-no to his diet. I know, I'm such a bad mommy.

Now, my little boy is turning two this March and loves to eat a lot. He loves munching breads, cookies, chocolates, grapes, oranges, and apples. No softdrinks and no junkfoods yet for him unitl he turns seven (that's my own rule that daddy sometimes break when I'm not around, as if I don't know). Aside from that, he still drinks his milk every now and then. I'm not complaining though. I just recently notice that he drinks 7 oz of milk more than three times a day. He can actually consume a can of 1 kilo of milk in a week. Gawd! He's drinking like a newborn baby!

Well, I just hope he gains more weight this time as I badly wanted him to.

Masterpiece

Inspired by the tag from Juliana, I decided to post its lyrics.

A simple touch of your hand,
And everything is right.
The gentle way you look at me,
When we kiss goodnight.
You've given me the freedom no other love has known
And now I thank you girl , thank you girl

The countless ways you've touched my heart
Is more than I can say
The beauty that you've shown to me
Takes my breath away
A picture perfect painting, that's what our love is
And yes I need you so, and now I know

chorus

Ooooh
I've found a masterpiece in you
A work of art it's true
And I treasure you my love
Ooooh
I've found a masterpiece in you
A work of art it's true
And I treasure you

Sometimes I wonder what I'd be
Had I not found you
A least and lonely soul this world
Could show me nothing new

But now my life's a canvas
Painted with your love
And it will always be
And now I see

The gentle walks together
Through time will never pass
This fairy tale we shared
Is real inside our hearts
Let it be forever
Never let it end
This promise I can make
Heaven is ours to take

repeat chorus

When I'm lost and insecure
You build me up and make me sure
That everything will be alright
My love

repeat chorus

This fairy tale we're sharing
Is real inside our hearts
Let it be forever
Never let it end

I heart it

Can somebody wake me up? I'm starting to day dream again, LOL!

MacBoor Air. I saw it kanina in TV Patrol. Gawd! The moment I saw it, I fell in love with it na. I like it. I super like it. It's the world's thinnest notebook. Costs a whooping $ 1,799 or roughly PhP 72,000. Oh, I'm starting to dream of buying it na. Hay...

My only problem now is can I afford to buy it this year? If daddy will be able to find a job, I can siguro. Crossing my fingers that this won't be like my very long wish list put aside. I wish... I wish... I wish...

Confessions

I confess that I never was a good daughter in the eyes of my parents. When I got pregnant, my phone was bombarded with preachy messages from my dad. Yes, we are Christians but I'd rather say I'm not a practicing one. Added to that was my mom's cold treatment as if I don't exist at all. I often receive a lot of reactions (including my relatives from my mom) that I was stupid and all. According to my parents, I never love them for I didn't respect their opinion but rather decided on my own.

I confess I got pregnant out of wedlock. In the eyes of God, I am sinner. It came to my mind to abort the baby then. The fear of Him prevails as I didn't cover up my mess by having another "major" sin. Now, seeing my baby is worth all the pains I had when I conceive him. He was able to cover up all the pains inside me.

I confess I am not yet married to the man I love. We do have plans but things aren't falling into their proper places at the moment. We will, soon. Oh yes, we have the weirdest setup one can imagine. We sort of live in together in my parents' place (we can't afford to move out yet).

Bitterness

I am bitter... I totally do...

I got pregnant in 2005 out of wedlock. Everything was unexpected. When we confess it to my mom, she cried and asked my boyfriend to leave the house then. She never talked to me. From that moment, I knew I never exist anymore. When my dad found out about it, my life was totally in hell. It even came to the point that the guy who handles our weekly bible study talked to us about my situation as told my dad. He even let me ask for forgiveness to my family. Later on, my boyfriend's family came to our place to talk about my situation. Yes, it was my lesbian aunt (who happens to be drunk at that time) who talked to them. In the end, nothing was agreed upon as my mom never speak up anything. Months passed and I am still the "daughter" that doesn't exist to them anymore. My phone was bombarded with preachy messages from my dad. There are times that my previous officemates often see me crying while talking to someone on the phone, they will then immediately know it's my dad. The messages are always the same. According to them, I never loved them as I decided on my own and I should have asked their permissions and opinions first. I do my laundry even though my tummy is already bulging. If others can't simply have a good night sleep because of their bulging tummy, I experienced it as well. But my nights were spent crying and crying. My entire pregancy is full of emotional pains. Now, I often joke around that my son is pinaglihi sa sama ng loob. When the d-day came, I wasn't able to wake my mom as Jojo rushed me to the hospital. While inside the labor room, my dad called me telling me that I didn't resepct them. I should have told them that I'm giving birth already. My mom joined me in the hospital jsut for a day. It was just me and daddy who stayed there until I was discharged. At present, I still hear my relatives telling me that I was stupid and I never used my head. My mom still gives her cold treatment at times to me but oftentimes to daddy.

That was the past and I'm trying to forget it... I'm trying to heal myself... But came another pregnancy out of wedlock. This time from my brother and his girlfriend. The situation was oh so different now. My parents were so cool about it. Gone were the cold treatment I received from her. Gone were the preachy messages I got from my dad (whenever my dad calls, we were in speaker phone so everyone can hear what he says). The girl lives in our house now. My aunt do their laundry.

Who can blame me from feeling bitter about it?

I'm trying to heal now but my eyes and ears can't fool my heart. I am in pain... The same pain I felt before...

Finally

You see we were broke last year and we are starting to breath out of it just a couple of months now. I can't afford anything as all my wants are planned luxury as of the moment. I wasn't brand conscious as I prefer to buy branded one for the little boy (di bale nang magmukhang yaya niya). Hence I set aside my wants to buy a pair of Havaianas not until today.

I got home today (morning) feeling oh so dead tired when I saw this inside my cabinet...

my very first pair of havaianas
havaianas top size 35-36 for me

Daddy bought it as his Christmas and Anniversary gift for me. I was glad to receive one from him knowing that he doesn't have work yet to buy me expensive one (kaya nga Havaianas Top lang na-afford niya eh, lol!). Anyways, thanks Daddy for the gift! I owe you one, hahaha!

Toxic night

Tonight seems to be the most toxic night I will ever have in my night shift here in our company. The DHCP server restarts every 30 minutes. Gawd!!! Calling admin team... Please do something about it as the server might be infected with msblast virus. Hollycow! No sleep for me as I need to monitor the server... The other pending works are set aside as this is the priority duty for the night.

Sadly, I won't be having my most loved time bloghopping. Crossing my fingers that this will just be for the night. I hope...

Thanks to the management of Platinum KTV for allowing us to bring my little boy inside... Well, he enjoyed the day while playing with Ninang Cathy. He also had a chance to sing his own song while his daddy is singing, lol!

Joshua sleeping

Inspired by Jane's post on how her little girl Sophia looks like when sleeping, I'm sharing also how my little boy sleeps...

I needed to post this pictures before the Daddy erased it. I don't know why he hates it when I took shots of how the little boy sleeps.

One fine morning

One fine morning, the little boy was in good mood so we just took some pictures of him... But oh no, his pal Pooh was never left behind.

Weekend recap

Saturday, I just stayed in our house and sleep the whole time. As usual, I let Mama watched over the little boy as I was in deep slumber.

Sunday, I was so lazy to do our laundry so I paid my aunt to do it for me. Afterwards, we went to MIL's house as Daddy's youngest sister (who happens to be sort of a special child) is celebrating her 17th birthday.

Posting some of the pictures and see how the little boys clings with his Ate Ally while posing for the camera.

Joshua's masterpiece

Just wanted to share with you my little boy's masterpiece... His canvass, our very own wall..

Sickies in the house

It's been a while since I posted something about my life. Instead of blogging and blog hopping to my blogger friends' site, I opt to sleep here in our office. As you know, sleeping here in the office is legal during night time, LOL!

The culprit, my usual colds. Though this has been quite normal every time I got my period, I simply can't bear it this time as I feel back pain and migraine too. Oh well, I just hope I'll feel better soon.

Aside from me, the little boy has been sick for a week now. He has cough and colds, too. We've been giving him Salbutamol for a week now but to no avail. The uncle pedia then prescribed additional medicine to take, Ilosone that is.

Thanks God the little boy is very cooperative in taking his medicine. There are times though that we need to use his pal Pooh or Patrick (which he calls Spongebob) to tell him to take his medicine. I feel stupid every time this happens (well, most of the time this happens) as the little boy responds more to them than me.

Get well soon to us!

Weekend recap

Saturday was a usual weekend for me. Did the laundry and would you believe it, angels has been sent out as the daddy helped me out until I was able to finish everything. Hehehe! Afterwards, since I am sleep deprived as I started doing the laundry right after I arrived from work, he allowed me to sleep while he babysit the little boy. When the little boy was finally in deep slumber, we decided to go to Alabang and look for something that we could give for Jhong. It's her birthday and we were going to have a lunch date the next day.

Sunday was a very fun day seeing old friends from college. I can't even remember when was the last time our schedules meet and was able to have a lunch date. Oh well, since it was Jhong's treat for us, she decided to have it in Chef de Angelo Greenbelt. Take note, no one, even the birthday girl knows that the restaurant is in Greenbelt 1. Hahaha! It was just that day when we found out about it. There are a lot of wacky stories on their way to Greenbelt 1. The best would be Cathy and Ian's story. The hail a taxi and went off in front of the Louis Vuitton store. The guard opened their door thinking that the couple would be entering the store, hahaha! They were embarassed daw as the guard was very courteous pa. We were the rowdiest in the place as we laugh together at everyone's stories. Fello arrived with a cakes less candle so we asked the manager if they do have a candle. Lucky us, the manager was able to provide one. The little boy (we decided to bring the kiddo as most of my college friends are his godparents) received more gifts than the birthday girl. LOL!

After our lunch date, we decided to go to Platinum KTV along Polaris. And the funniest part was we were so early birds as no one is still in the area aside from the guard. Next time guys, gimik time is 3 pm, LOL! They were so good enough as they open ahead of time just because of us. After 2 hours of singing out loud, we call it a day as some still have appointments. We together with Cathy, Ian and Nolan went to spent another hour at Timezone Glorietta. Afterwards, we call it a day as well.

Next get together will be on February as we will be celebrating Dou's birthday. Hopefully, our plans will push through.

P.S. Pics will be posted soon after I received them from Cathy and Jhong

Ruben is PBB Celebrity Edition 2 Big Winner

Finally, the most talked about season of PBB is over. Congratulatiosn to Ruben for being the big winner. I hate it though thinking that Riza's text votes outnumbered Gaby. Were you able to see Mariel's reaction when she peeked into the envelope being checked by the SGV man? Oh well... Next season will be for teens. Will another Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson be born in the coming season? Will find out on March...

Who will be tonight's PBB Celebrity Edition 2 Big Winner?

I was fond of PBB from the very first season. I remember the daddy always scold me for staying up late just to watch it. I was pregnant then. My fondness though didn't end up voting for my fave one. Sayang ang load. LOL!

And now, the Big Night is merely hours from now. Thank God I will be able to watch it tonight. Who's your bet? I'm still kinda confused between Gaby and Ruben. I know the sympathy of the public is for Ruben, but attitude wise I go for Gaby.

Happy Birthday Jhong!!!

To one of my closest friend, Jhong...
Happy Birthday

Waiting for 7 o'clock

Here I am at the office with dim lights in our area... Feeling exhausted... Experiencing migraine... I wasn't able to doze off to sleep, just had 30 minutes power nap though... Waiting for the clock to show it's 7 o'clock in the morning... And wake my sleeping brain to go home and have a decent sleep.

The owl is awake

Shades are out as the owl has awaken. To everyone, the owl is me. Yet after bidding goodbye for the second time to the graveyard shift from my previous call center experiences, here I am again awake at night and asleep at day for this year. Talk about starting the year right, LOL!

However, being in this graveyard shift here in my new job is more appealing to me as I can doze to sleep anytime. But of course, I shouldn't have been sleeping the whole night or else, I may get fired. Hahaha!

Also, I would have more time blogging and bloghopping as there's no big bosses roaming around at night. I get so addicted to blogging just recently, though.

The sad part was I won't be with the little boy at night while he's in deep slumber and I might not be able to spent more time during the day while he's awake as I would be hitting the sack by then.

I just wish everything went well this month and hopefully had a new schedule come February.

Pooh missing in action

Whenever we pay visit at Buli, we seldom bring along the little boy's pal Pooh so the replacement will be the monkey that he loves to play with.
