Sunday Stealing: The Pretentious Blogging Meme

1. How long have you been blogging?

Roughly, 2 years and one month now.

2. What made you start?

I wanted to have my own little space in the web where I would share my daily musings in life.

3. Who inspired you?

It got to be Lea Salonga, Jane and Jacqui (the first two gals who accepted my request to exchange links).

4. About how many hours a week would you estimate you spend on your blog?

I’d say two-three hours a day including posting on my blog, lurking on other blogs as well.

5. What kind of experience or background do you have with writing?

I really don’t write. As a matter of fact, I still have difficulty putting my ideas in a coherent paragraph. But I had creative writing subject way back in high school.

6. Talk about how you come up with blog topics. Where do you get your ideas?

Anything under the sun. Most of the time, it’s just my two cents.

7. What or who inspires you and your blog?

Myself, my husband and my kids.

8. Where and/or how do your brainstorming for your blog?

I don’t do brainstorming. I write whatever I want and feel no matter what impression would my post be to other bloggers.

9. Do you have any blogging rules or guidelines you follow?

None.

10. Is there anything you will not blog about?

Yes. If you are living in the side of the world, you know what’s taboo to write.

11. Do you have any sort of a publishing schedule in terms of day of week or topic?

No. Whenever I feel the need to write, I write and post it afterwards.

Lift Up your Hands

Life is not at all that bad my friend, mmm....
If you believe in yourself
If you believe there's someone
Who walks through life with you
You'll never be alone
Just learn to reach out
And open your heart
Lift up your hands to God
And He'll show you the way

And He said,
"Cast your burdens upon me,
Those who are heavily laden
Come to meall of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light
Come to Me and I will give you rest."

When you feel the world is tumbling down on you
And you have no one that you can hold on to
Just face the rising sun and you'll see hope
And there's no need to run
Lift up your hands to God
And He'll make you feel alright

And He said,
"Cast your burdens upon me,
Those who are heavily laden
Come to meall of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light
Come to Me and I will give you rest."

In less than 6 weeks

my first born is turning 4. He isn't the boy who clings to his mother all time now. He isn't the boy who would ask help for every little thing he does. He isn't the boy who would ask if he can go out of our room to play with his cousin in my mom's place. Where did all the years go?

As he requested, I'm cooking out a small party for him with his classmates in school. I haven't received the go sign yet from his teacher. I also need to finalize the list of things the husband and I need to buy before we troop to Divisoria for the lootbags.

And oh, he has been requesting to have one below for the longest time. I think it's high time we grant his wish.

Growing up, what was your favorite sitcom?

My week will not be complete without watching Dawson’s Creek and TGIS (local show).

What’s your idea of a romantic date?

Cheesy as it seems, my idea of a romantic date then is candlelight dinner in a fancy restaurant.

What are you most afraid to lose?

I can lose everything but not my family.

Eddie Ako!

Are you tired of hearing “Nakaligo ka na ba sa dagat ng basura, nagpasko ka na ba sa gitna ng kalsada” over our local TV again and again and again? I just had twice or thrice seen this MTV ad of Bro. Eddie and as a Christian, I was moved by what I see. Yes, no one can change our country but EDDIE AKO!

Eddie Ako! Official Music Video
Composed by: Paul Armesin
Singer: Gloc 9

Umasa kang pagbangon ay posible pa
Pangarap nating araw ay sisiskat na
Pag-asay magniningas sa bagong Pilipinas

Buong sambayanan magkapit bisig na
Upang tunay na pagbabagoy magsimula
Sa pag sulong ng bayan, makiisa!

Chorus:
Sino pang may malasakit at pag-ibig sa bansa
Sino pa? Eh di ako!
Kailan mag uumpisa? Magkaisa, kumilos na!
Kailan pa? Eh di ngayon!
Sino pa nga bang gagawa?
Sinong pagsisimulan
Sinong magtataguyod ng bayan ni Juan?
Eh di ako!

RAP by Gloc 9:

me and u Exactly 6 years ago, I made the biggest decision in my life to be with you for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer. Life wouldn’t have been the same with out. I would not have experienced a very roller coaster life if not without you. I thank God and will forever be grateful to all the memories we made, the good times we shared, and the love that keeps on growing between us. You’ve been the man I’ve been asking for, a blessing from above – one that I do not take for granted. Thank you for all the things you’ve done for me and for the kids. You have been a wonderful husband, a terrific father, provider and caregiver. You give so freely to all those you know in such a loving way. Your generosity is inspiring! I love you, Daddy ... more than words, more than life. I'm forever grateful for your love and proud to be your wife.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DADDY!

I love you so much!

Joshua is turning 4

DSC04356

Is this for real?

My little boy which I still calls my baby is turning four this March. Where did all the years go? He doesn’t need mommy now – most of the time. He does his own thing without my help. Even if I insist on helping him, he doesn’t allow me to do so. He’s practicing independence. He decides where to sleep. He decides what to eat. Although, we still can fool him to eat veggies.

Artscow photobook

frontWhere art thou? Let me rant about this photobook I’ve been waiting for. This was supposed to be our gift for Matty’s (hubby’s cousin’s firstborn) first birthday last December 17. I submitted the design and paid Artscow last November 24. They emailed me that the book is already in transit December 1. Since they said the shipping takes 8-12 business days (with 3-4 extra business days), I expect to have the book before the birthday party.

The party is done but the book is still not around. I even emailed them asking for tracking number but the heck, they do not have one. Gawd! This already made me pissed off. I even plan to get another one as Claire’s guestbook on her first birthday but I don’t want to get into trouble again.

Until now, it has been a month already after they shipped the book, the book is still nowhere to be found. I don’t know what to feel. Should I still hope to see this book? Oh well…

All about weddings

I admit, I got envy whenever I hear a friend or an officemate getting married. Why? Because until now, I am not married. We still doesn’t have funds to do such. We’ve been planning this all the time but keeps on taking a back seat whenever other things (spell, finance related matters) spur. So, for the mean time, this is still a future plan. As to when the future plan becomes present plan, God knows when. I am still crossing my finger though to get married soon.

For this year, I have three friends who are getting married. All are set so no need for me to advice to have a Riviera maya destination weddings. I would have loved to have a beach wedding like the ones a famous local wedding photographer couple had last year. Oh well, I’ll just keep on dreaming.
