Saturday 9: Midnight Confessions

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. Oil of Gladness
To my fellow Christians who have been hurt by the result of our first automated national election, let’s us all be reminded that we may be losers in the eyes of the world, but in the eyes of our God we are more than victorious!
You have given me
The oil of gladness,
A garment of praise
Instead of mourning
A shining crown instead of ashes,
And glory in the face of despair.
I delight greatly in you
My soul rejoices and sings.
For you took my empty life
And filled it with every good thing!
You have given me
The oil of gladness,
A garment of praise
Instead of mourning
A shining crown instead of ashes,
And glory in the face of despair.
When my life was without purpose
You gave me a reason to live.
Now my heart is full of thanksgiving
For all the riches you give!
You have given me
The oil of gladness,
A garment of praise
Instead of mourning
A shining crown instead of ashes,
And glory in the face of despair.
Paluwagan or pasikipan
It was my first time to join one. It was my husband's distant relative who asked us if we want to join. And since she is a relative, we agreed to join and got two slots. The weekly share is Php150 per slot and take home money is Php3000. Agreed release of money is every other Saturday. It has been 14 weeks that we diligently pay our share and waited for our turn to get our salary.
We plan to use the money to buy uniforms and other school supplies for Joshua. Little did we know that a nightmare is suppose to happen.
Blow by blow event of what happened:
May 7 - This is the day before we were supposed to get our salary, the husband reminded his relative about it. The relative asked if her mom could swap schedule as the money that was supposed to arrive from their relative abroad for her mom's medicines will be delayed for two weeks. I didn't agree with the idea, I am feeling something fishy going on. The husband told her that we do not agree on the idea but unfortunately, the relative claimed that they have already used the money to buy her mom's medicines.
May 8 - We were pushing the relative to produce the money as we didn't gave our agreement. She just though we agreed. By then, my blood is literally came to its boiling point. The end of the story - we didn't get the money but she promised we could have half of the pot the next week.
May 15 - There is still no money. She even insists that she releases money every other week. I really like to talk to her but the husband forbade me. He told me to let him to do the negotiation with his relative. In short, after all the excuses, we only got Php1100.
May 22 - Finally it was our turn to get the money. She told us that she'll be giving us the money after lunch. Come 3pm, she was giving us alibis that she is outside their home collecting the money from the others who joined. She even advised us to get the money tomorrow instead, Sunday. She was again telling us that she usually release money on a Sunday contrary to what she was telling us before. Around 4pm, the husband has come to a decision of quitting. It was kindda odd that the she openly accepted the idea and even shared that many had already quit from the paluwagan. I was thinking, no wonder many has called quits already. She only gave us Php2100 and promised to give the remaining Php1000 the next day.
May 23 - Afternoon comes and no news from the relative. The husband is in marathon sending SMS messages to her but no response. Around 9pm, we received a message telling us that she has gone out of home and will be back later that night. She even told us that the remaining money will be given to us tomorrow by 10. "Sure na."
Today. It is already past 11 in the morning but the husband still doesn't get the remaining money. Good God! I really wanted to talk to that lady and would let her realize how much stress she has been giving us.
To you: you were even telling my husband that you don't want to destroy your relationship with him but look what you have done. You destroyed your reputation for money. You have given us so much alibis that neither one is believable. You could have just save yourself from so much shame if you just said the truth that you spent all that money. You should have thank my husband for giving you enough time to earn the money that you have spent. If he has only allowed me to do the talking, you could have not eaten for the longest time now. Whew!
Quick movie date
Yesterday, while my little girl is having a slight temperature, I had no choice but to left her with my mom. I have a quick errand to at Metropolis in Alabang - to get my orders in Wacoal - I am a dealer, that's why. Hence, at 3pm the husband and I brave the heat and off we go.
While I stayed at the store, the husband went around the mall. The time I was finished, the husband asked if I wanted to watch a movie. His friend had three tickets for Robinhood at Festival Mall and asked if we would like to go. In a blink of an eye, he agreed and before I knew it, we were already on our way to the movie house. I advise the husband that we should go straight home once the movie is done as the little girl is sick.
I get quite bored all through out the movie. Add the factor that I wasn't able to comprehend it as my mind is occupied by my girl. After the movie, we just got a quick stopover to McDonald's to buy dinner and to complete the 2 sets of Shrek toys for the little boy and off we go home.
Rise, and rise again. Until lambs become lions.
Saturday 9: Upside Down
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
1. When was the last time that you felt your world got turned upside down?
A couple of months ago when our finances shoot high and our income cannot meet our needs.
2. Should the United States do more to help its own citizens before helping people in other countries?
Definitely. It’s should be the same thing to other countries, most especially here in my side of the world.
3. What was something you memorized for school and still can recall?
My preschool graduation song! “Busy days we have come with our crayons and pencil. Counting numbers, drawing objects, learning our ABCs.”
4. With what types of people do you tend to associate?
I am a type of person who had difficulty mingling with other people. I often had a hard time warming up. In the end, I associate myself to others who have an almost the same lifestyle, same background as mine.
5. Besides blogging what is the last creative thing that you've done?
Digital scrapping. Although I don’t have enough creative juice in my body to publish my works. I tend to “imitate” other styles :-)
6. In nature, what outdoor activities do you enjoy the most?
I don’t know. I’m not an outdoor type of person. I hate the sun.
7. When was the last time that you had a great belly laugh?
Yesterday during my officemate’s baby shower. Another officemate was part of a game where she will be fed “Gerber” - she almost puke in front of many people as she finds the taste disgusting.
8. What kind of fashion-sense attracts you?
I prefer the casual, clean and chic style.
9. What traits in others turn you off?
Those who loves to procrastinate. In our own language, those who had “MaƱana Habit.”

Friday Fill-in #177
1. Seeing my kids happy never fails to make me smile.
2. I'm looking forward to Donna’s baby shower later this afternoon.
3. Baby by Justin Bieber is what I'm listening to right now.
4. Potato salad must have potatoes in it!
5. Bacon and egg was the best thing I ate today.
6. Today was a very hurtful Friday for me.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to making amends with the husband, tomorrow my plans include going back to work and Sunday, I want to seriously take a rest!
At work
Yeah. As early as seven in the morning, I am already here at work. I literally drag myself to work today. I feel exhausted even if I had more than five hours of sleep. It was so hard to leave my kids at home most especially my younger one who has started to cling to me whenever she sees me preparing for work. Add to that is the pain I feel as the husband and I are still not in speaking terms after the small fight we had last night. I am off to a baby shower later and I wish I can lighten up my mood so as not to spoil the event. I think I’d start surfing the net and look where I could buy gold bullion before anything else.

Saturday 9: Hey Jealousy
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
1. When was the last time that you got jealous?
I can’t even remember when was the last time I got jealous. My husband is good enough not to let me feel jealous of someone at all.
2. At what point do you finally decide it's time to move forward with your life (like, major changes)? How do you know? What do you do?
The moment I decided to be with my husband, that’s the time I felt it’s time to move forward and forgive and forget those who has done wrong to me and to truly not dwell in what happened in the past
3. When is it time to just let it ('it' can be whatever you choose) go? How do you know? What do you do?
I guess when no matter how hard you tried and still you can’t have it, that’s the time you have to let it go. It isn’t really meant for you.
4. How many times must someone push your buttons before you've just had enough? Why?
Thrice. I try to be at my most understanding state but if you really push me really hard, I fired back.
5. If I S/O were to cheat on you, could you ever see yourself giving them a second chance? Or a third?
Never! Once my trust is broken, it is broken forever. However, I wouldn’t treat him as my enemy, I could still be civil with the person.
6. What was the last thing that someone did that you were very grateful for?
When there was fire on our village and my mom purposely forget all our material things just to make sure that my daughter and her things are safe.
7. How much time do you spend online in a given weekday? What about the weekends?
Weekdays? 8-9 hours the most. Weekends? 1-2 hours the most, or if I really do have time.
8. How many online journals/blogs do you read regularly? What are some of your favorites and why?
I follow more than 10 mommy blogs but my favorite so far is Kelle Hampton’s blog. I get so touched when she honestly blog about her Nella’s birth story.
9. What was the last major purchase that you made?
My HP mini purchased November of last year.
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. Friday Fill-in #175

My president is Bro. Eddie
Exactly two days to go and our country will decide who we think should run our nation. Have you made up your mind? This is the second time for me to vote and like what happened six years ago, I know many would raise their eyebrows as who I will vote for. I will vote neither among the big four presidentiables. My vote, my only vote, my sacred vote is for the man who has true love for the nation and true fear for God.
I am in support of BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA!
Yes, I am a JIL member but that doesn’t make me vote for him. First and foremost, the church does not impose its members to vote for him. The very reason why I prefer him among the others is simply because I, as a voter and a tax payer, believes that he can do much more compared to the others. We don't want to let our taxes be into waste again for the next six years, right?
This is why I think I he deserves my vote:
1. He is educated.
2. He is a team leader.
3. And last but not the least, he is GOD FEARING.
Why settle for the LESS EVIL candidate if there is a GOD FEARING one? Why settle for the candidate who rides on the hype of the nation's compassion towards his parents? Why settle for the candidate who can easily, and will eventually grab one's land for his business?
And like what his jingle says:
Sino pang may malasakit at pag-ibig sa bansa
Sino pa? Eh di ako!
Kailan mag uumpisa? Magkaisa, kumilos na!
Kailan pa? Eh di ngayon!
Sino pa nga bang gagawa?
Sinong pagsisimulan
Sinong magtataguyod ng bayan ni Juan?
Eh di ako!
It’s high time for the Philippines to wake up and stand back again.
BANGON PILIPINAS!
Fire! Fire!
There was fire on our village yesterday! It was only 6 blocks/houses away from ours. Good thing, the firemen declared fire out and only two houses were burnt.
***
Yesterday, I arrived in our village in chaos. I simply didn’t know what was happening. I was just irritated with my husband who advised me earlier that he is already going home. I even insisted for him to wait me. I learned that he purposely didn’t inform me that there was fire on-going because he knows I’m one panic queen.
My mom called him up and advised him to go home as it was only my mom, my daughter and my sickly aunt who was there. My two younger brothers were out for an outing. My mom told me that she just prayed that the Man above spared us from the fire as we don’t have anything else aside from our house.
She wasn’t in panic though she let my aunt carry my daughter while she turned off our main electric switch as well as our gas tank. She was only able to take out her bag where she put important documents and my daughter’s milk, water, few clothes and diapers.
When everything was already in normal condition – there were no one in panic mode – I told her why she didn’t thought of keeping my laptop and digicam safe. Her answer was pure and simple. She prefer to keep my daughter safe than try to muster all her strength to keep all material things safe. Aaww.. That is my MOM.
Thanks Mama for continuously loving us unconditionally. I love you so much!
I like

Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want.
Write about it on your blog... simple as that.
Maybe you can interpret it as a picture - we don't care!
Please only leave a link if you have written a Thursday Thunks post.
Please mention us in your post, and link back to the blog here.
Don't forget to go visit the other participants' blogs.
Read and comment about all their Thursday Thunks responses!
That's what all this is about after all, isn't it?
We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....
The TT questions are brought to you by Kimber, the color of Wednesday's eyes and the number 5.
1. Have you ever performed the Heimlich Maneuver on someone or had it performed on you?
No, I haven’t.
2. Do you have a red room in your home? (Either painted red or red curtains etc.)
No but I would love to have a red main door.
3. Have you ever felt like banging your head against the wall?
Yes when my head hurts badly or whenever I can’t figure out how to stretch our finances. Argh!
4. Reports came out this week that Michael Jackson was gay. Are you shocked, don't believe it, don't care or felt he was all along?
I did felt he was all along but I don’t care either.
5. What's the dumbest thing you have done after a breakup with a S/O?
What’s a S/O? Significant other? There was this one guy who dump me and I still tried to win him back. Very stupid of me.
6. If Berleen and Bud are standing on the roof of a one story building and decide to throw water balloons at Kimber walking down below on the sidewalk, what color balloon hits her first?
Pink? I love pink balloons!
7. What are the wildest, craziest pajamas you own?
I’m not a pajama person though I own a few which are the most common PJs out there.
8. Have you ever ridden in a sidecar on a motorcycle?
Yup! Several times.
9. Do/did you go party on Cinco De Mayo, and if so what color was the bartender's shirt?
Nope.
10. Why does a hat have a bill?
Why not?
11. If you were a WWE professional wrestler, what would your stage name be?
Pinktomahawk!
12. How many keys do you have on your keyring?
3 or more, can’t barely remember.
13. What is the oldest picture you currently have in your home? What year was it taken and who/what is the photo of?
The oldest picture that’s is displayed in our house was taken when my husband celebrated his 5th birthday party. Say, it was taken 1987.
Iron Man 2
Last Friday, the husband together with his nephew and sister went to Supreme Court for the latter's roll signing. On the other hand, me and my colleague went to Bench Fix at Glorietta for a hair cut.
Afterwards, I meet them at Glorietta's Food court for dinner. Ate shop for two suits and off we went to Festival Mall to watch Iron Man 2.
The mall was already closed when we arrived but the guards allow us to come in as we are a total of four who will watch the last full show.
I expected more for this movie. The phase of the story was so slow that it bored me while the villain was being established in the movie. The "action" part where Iron Man, War Machine and Ivan met was way too short also. It was bitin. I was even telling the husband that it took only a minute or two for the two to kill the villain.
Over all, the movie was simply ok for me. Not to die for but I'd still watch the next sequel, hehe! What I hated about it was we didn't finish the creadits, argh!!!
Next movie in line, this time a movie date for Joshua and the husband is The Last Airbender. I just hope the movie will give justice to the cartoons that we finished in one seating.
